Question Using Variables in Article Editor

Hello, I'm using the Volusion article editor trying to add an affiliate/tracking type javascript to an article/page. I would like to be able to use variables from the "currently logged in user" and pass them into the javascript - specifically first name, last name, email address, and unique system ID (Customer_ID). The result would be something like:

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://remotesite.com/script.js?id=$(CUSTOMER_ID)&fname=$(FIRST_NAME)"></script>
    Which Volusion would render as:

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://remotesite.com/script.js?id=12345&fname=Chris"></script>
I've seen 2 different styles of how this might be accompished:

    1) In article #100 - Help_EmailBetterPrice.asp I see this in the article body:

    Dear valued customer,
As requested, we have sent an email to the following address: $(EmailAddress).
    Please check your email box.
Thank you for shopping at $(CompanyName)!
    2) On the Page Text Editor (inline editing) I see this for the Welcome message:

Description: Welcome Text displayed on my account page
Click on a field below to include it in the display:
{0}: Name of customerthat is logged in
I need this ability on 2 articles - #90 and #130. I've tried using these methods (blind) with no luck.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks,
    Chris

I think those particular variables are unique to those specific ASP pages (Help_EmailBetterPrice.asp, etc.) -- I don't think you are given the freedom to pull any customer data for display.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread...

This can only be done by creating a custom ASP page and using javascript.
