    Beware of their Commerce...

Had to laugh when I saw this rather 'desperate' PPC ad by Volusion 'warning' against Big Commerce.

I wonder on what grounds they feel we need to 'beware'...perhaps it is the unlimited bandwidth they think is dangerous or the fact they already have these devilish 'new fangled' responsive themes...

Maybe it is because they don't charge you a separate PCI compliance fee? How do you know your compliant if they are not charging you a fee????

Unlimited Features? Volusion now has a two tier plan, where the lower plans now do not allow for import / export.

The downside of Big Commerce is their support is not 24X7. They are available M-F, and 9-2 CT on Saturday.

    The rest is FUD.

LOL, the page is down now. I am guessing their legal team slapped someone's wrist.

You can still see it by going to Google's cached version.

Love the PCI compliant comment on this page http://www.volusion.com/lp/compare/v...-comparison/v1

    "Big Commerce are:
Merely PCI compliant – doesn’t offer the same level of security as Volusion’s full PCI/CISP certification"

I bet their customers website are able to pass a Trustwave scan though!

    Bigcommerce

Offers a cumbersome integration with eBay and outsources its Amazon integration to a third party
LMAO - as opposed to a first party?

    BigCommerce

Only offers limited phone support (7-9p CT M-F, 9a-2p CT on Saturday and Sunday)
I bet you get a quicker response during those hours as well.

They must be losing a lot of business to BC. It just wreaks of desperation.

While I haven't used BC Customer Support very often (No need to as I did with Volusion on an almost weekly basis) The call was almost always answered immediately with less then 1 minute of wait time.

Sorry to bump such an old post. I thought it said 2015, but it's still relevant to anybody who is paying loads of money to Volusion...

It's in very poor taste to outright attack your competition in that way. Companies that do that kind of thing would also implement bandwidth limits then disallow browser caching in order to increase bandwidth used by their customers. Maybe that's why they think we should beware of Big Commerce?

That poor taste attack on their competition alone is enough to drive me to make the switch to Shopify even faster.
It's not fresh, but it's fruit.
