How to import a CSV file to Big Commerce?

I have a csv file that I tried to import on Big Commerce, I clicked on "Bulk Edit Re-Import" so that the fields would fill up, I continued with everything else and all I get is that the process is complete but 0 were imported successfully.
    Any ideas?

We would need a lot more details to help you figure that out. Start with what fields are you importing.

I took screen shots through the whole process to give you a better idea of what I am doing wrong.

It looks like you are not including a product ID or product name field. There are certain required fields that you must include for your import. https://support.bigcommerce.com/ques...le%3F#required

Also, Bigcommerce sees the data quite differently than Volusion does and you are going to need to translate many items to get them imported cleanly (if at all).

So when I export the products from volusion I only have to check the Product Name, Category, Price and Weight?

Those are the require, bare-minimum fields necessary for import into the Bigcommerce system. I would imagine that you want a lot more data than that though.

This third party paid application may be helpful on importing from Volusion to Big Commerce:

To do it yourself, you are basically dealing with 3 stages in converting it. What you need to do is map it. Think of it as creating a map from where you are, how your going to get there, and your final destination. Schema is the finished map, and mapping is the process of creating the map (schema).

    Mapping Your Schema:

    1. Data from Volusion. Create a spreadsheet, and put in it what columns you want.

    2. Changes you will need for the data to be ready for Big Commerce This can be some more columns in your spreadsheet

    3. Data in Big Commerce - More columns.

A good trick is export from Big Commerce in .csv, look at the data to note any surprises, and then use that to build your schema map.

A lot can be done using search and replace in a spreadsheet when your moving data.

When your moving html in a .csv, it can be a headache.

    Good Luck!

Did you figure out a solution; I am also in a rut here with the same issue. I also don't want to pay a company to do it for me if I have more than enough time to do so.

How did you find the transition?
