Be careful with your mirrored sites...

    a) yesterday, I received a fail on PCI compliance because it said that domain didn't resolve to my store name. haven't yet had the chance to clear up

    b) just signed on to GWT and told I had no access. I have to 'verify' the site... owner has to add me. I can't even remember who the 'owner' is...

I assume issues are because of mirrored site/new template.

    Is it a full moon?

Make sure your site verification meta code is still there in between your <head> </head> it might not have made the switch to your new template.

It had gone bye-bye. I reverified this morning.

What I would do differently if I ever set up another mirror site... I had sitewide no index, no follow metatag, but obviously not enough:

    a) get into the robots.txt file and remove the site name immediately

    b) get rid of any reference to Google on the template... analytics or otherwise

    c) remove all seal references

    d) make sure site name is removed from maintenance page

Any other suggestions? My site is so mucked up with Google now that I may soon call it a day for good.

You may be surprised and it may bounce back pretty quick since Google thought you had duplicate content issues. On your mirror site, I would put in the robots file a big no follow, for the entire site.

I would get a free trial with Moz, and run some of their tools to look at your back link profile.

ritchey, there was a big no follow metatag for the entire site. However, it got followed anyway.

That's why I'd do all the other stuff if I ever do it again.

Thankfully, the mirror site was dumped as of yesterday.

Right now, I'm too tired to think of all the work ahead.
